Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International airport, you will be welcomed by your professional tour driver/guide and embark on a scenic journey to Fort Portal, a beautiful town overlooking the mountains of the moon. Taking the Western scenic route to Kibale Forest National Park. This journey will take you through the Albertine rift found in the Western arm of the Great East African rift valley.
You may pass by the Nakajima tree in Mubende, a cultural tree where you will get lots of stories. Reaching Fort Portal early in the afternoon, relax and refresh at the hotel. You may go for a cultural tour in the evening among the Batooro community.
Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon hotel/Kyaninga Lodge/Chimpanzee guest house/chimps nest lodge.
Day 2 of the 6 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari Uganda Wildlife Tour: Go for Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National Park and nature walk.
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters for the chimpanzee briefing by the forest guide. You will locate the chimps by listening for their pant-hooting calls, then hustle to the area from which they are calling. You will see more other primates such as the red colobus, black and white colobus and the red-tailed monkey.
After lunch, you will go for a nature walk along the Bigodi wetland sanctuary, where you will encounter a variety of bird species and mammals. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 of the 6 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari Uganda Wildlife Tour: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park and boat cruise.
In the morning, you will set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will reach early for an afternoon boat cruise where you will be rewarded with a view of animals as hippos, crocodiles, buffalos, elephants among others. You will then retire to Mweya Safari Lodge/Enganzi Lodge/Kyambura game lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will go for a game drive where you expect to see more games as bushbucks, lion, among others. Later, transfer to Bwindi National Park via the Ishasha sector where you will have game drives to see tree-climbing lions.
Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park found in the southern part of the country. On your arrival, you will relax at the lodge while preparing for the gorillas the next day. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Buhoma community bandas.
Day 5: Mountain Gorilla tracking and cultural walk.
Early in the morning after breakfast and briefing by a ranger guide, enter the forest for your gorilla trekking adventure. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Tracking may take 3-9 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in their natural wild.
You will stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour once you encounter them, and then transfer back to your lodge for relaxation. If still early, you may go for community walks in the evening to visit the Batwa (pygmies) and get entertained with their traditional dances. Dinner and overnight stay
Day 6: Transfer to Kampala.
After your relaxed breakfast, set off for Kampala. On your way to Kampala, you will have a scenic view of mountains, plain fields, and plantations. You will make several stopovers to do shopping and photography, reaching Kampala in the afternoon. Transfer to Entebbe Airport for your departure flight if on schedule or Dinner and overnight at your chosen hotel.
